Computer Information Application

CIA prepares students to apply skills to address business applications of emerging technologies, create word-processing documents, develop spreadsheets and databases, and make electronic presentations using appropriate software. This course is recommended for students with an introductory level of computer knowledge. Students will complete the course with an intermediate level skill in word-processing, spreadsheet, database applications and presentations. This course is approved for technology applications graduation credit.

Grade Placement: 9 - 12
Prerequisites: Keyboarding Applications or Pass Placement Test

This course is worth 1 credit.

Honors Computer Information Application

This course teaches students to apply technical skills to address business applications of emerging technologies, create word-processing documents, develop sophisticated spreadsheets using chart and graphs, and make an electronic presentation using appropriate multimedia software. Students will also be prepared with software specific instructions and training in how to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Exams (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook). This professional industry certification distinguishes its holders with Microsoft Applications Mastery, enhances college and career resumes, and certifies skills in a highly competitive global technological job market. This course is approved for technology applications graduation credit.

Advanced Computer Information Application
