  • Students, please remember that the doors on the South side in the 100 Hall are LOCKED, all day.  This applies even if you are coming from the weight room or the MAC.  Please do not interrupt classes by banging on the doors asking to be let in.  They are LOCKED.  Please use another entrance, on the West side, or on the East side near Cravens Field.  Thank You.---
  • 10th and 11th grade Students interested in Dual Credit for next year, please remember the meeting after school in the Library today!!! Don't miss it!!---
  • If you are interested in being a Lamar Cheerleader for next school year, there will be a mandatory information meeting on Wednesday, February 22, at 7:00 pm in the Lamar cafeteria.  Both the student and parent must attend this meeting in accordance with AISD policy.  See Coach Dailey in room 1022 if you have questions.---
  • Future Programmers and Coders, missing one more of those pesky Math credits you need to graduate?  Want to learn how to do Math without Numbers?  That’s right, I said Math without Numbers.  Then see Mr. Walla in room 102 to learn more about Digital Electronics.---
  • Hungry for pizza? Do you like to help others? Come join us at CiCis pizza on North Collins tonight. Cici's is helping Edward Vissoni raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Help us help raise funds for research of these blood cancers. Be sure to mention that Edward sent you when you order. That Thursday Feb 16 from 3to 9.---
  • Do you like children?  Do you see a career in education in your future?  Would you like to receive occupational training without going far from home? Then, Ready, Set, Teach!  is for you!!!  If you would like more information, stop by your counselor’s office, or go by room 214 or 277, Ms. Cantrell can answer your questions. Fill out an application online on the CTE webpage. Counselors can guide you to that area. This is a good way to find out if education is a career for you in the future!!!---
  • AP registration begins February 1 and ends February 22. Please bring your money to the fines window in the main office or see Mrs. Thomas in room 255.---
  • The Richard Greene Scholar Program applications are now available in the Counseling Center.  This is an excellent opportunity if you are interested in a $10,000 scholarship and an Internship during your senior year.  For more information go to or see your counselor.  The application is due by 3:00 on Friday February 24th in the Counseling Center.  Good Luck!!---

Late Night at the Library


The Library will be open late for tutoring and studying on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 3:00 - 6:00 pm, beginning 9/6.  There will be a math tutor available both nights. 

Entrances to Lamar

Lamar students, parents, and visitors,
Prior to 7:35, the Band Hall, Promenade and Main Office entrances will be unlocked. After 7:35, we will lock all exterior doors except those at the Band Hall entrance and the Main office entrance. All parents and visitors may park in the main lot north of Lamar Blvd and enter through the Band Hall, or park in the lot just off Sam Curlee Blvd at the SW corner of the school. A security guard will direct visitors at the Band Hall entrance, and visitors to the Main Office entrance should check in inside the main office. Thank you!
