  • Join us at our ASL Club meeting on Tuesday, May 30 in Room 1046, right after school. We will also be eating at Blaze Pizza to raise support of the club's goals. So encourage your family to go to Blaze Pizza on Collins Tuesday evening, and tell them you're there for the Lamar ASL Club.
  • Attention Graduating Seniors, All former Pope Panthers are invited to a reception in your honor.  Please join is in the Pope Elementary Library Thursday the 25th from 4-5:30 pm.
  • Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors do you like science? Well if you do, come pick up a Science National Honor Society application in or outside room 213.  Applications will be due on May 26th in room 213.
  • Attn: Any student that has taken a Dual Credit course- Please return all dual credit textbooks to Ms. Willis (Rm. 264) or Mr. Davis (East office), as soon as possible.  You will be financially responsible for any unreturned, lost or damaged textbooks.---
  • Summer School registration is open.  See your counselor to sign up for classes.  Classes will fill up quickly and they are filled on a first come, first served basis.  Early Registration is May 22nd from 4:30-6:30 in the Main Office.  Regular Registration is June 7 & 8 from 8:30-1:30 in the Main Office.  You must attend registration to be enrolled.  See your counselor if you have additional questions.---
  • A reception honoring graduating seniors that are former Butler Broncos will be held in the Butler Elementary cafeteria on May 26th. From 3:45 to 4:30--
  • The 2017 Valhalla has arrived. Students who preordered need a photo ID to pick up their yearbook in room 2105. A limited number of extra copies are available for $80 cash only.  Pick up times are posted on the door. --
  • A reception honoring graduating seniors that are former Ellis Eagles will be held in the Ellis Elementary library May 24th. From 4:00 – 5:00---

Friday May 26th - Finals for Seniors

Monday May 29th - Memorial Day Holiday

Tuesday May 30th - Finals for Seniors

Thursday June 1st - Finals

Friday June 2nd - Finals

Sunday June 4th - Graduation

The State of Texas mandates that each student MUST pass the STAAR End of Course  (EOC) tests in English 1& 2, Algebra 1, Biology and US History as part of the graduation requirements. Students who did not pass one or more tests during the first administration of the tests will have the opportunity to retest this summer.

Late Night at the Library


The Library will be open late for tutoring and studying on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 3:00 - 6:00 pm, beginning 9/6.  There will be a math tutor available both nights. 

Entrances to Lamar

Lamar students, parents, and visitors,
Prior to 7:35, the Band Hall, Promenade and Main Office entrances will be unlocked. After 7:35, we will lock all exterior doors except those at the Band Hall entrance and the Main office entrance. All parents and visitors may park in the main lot north of Lamar Blvd and enter through the Band Hall, or park in the lot just off Sam Curlee Blvd at the SW corner of the school. A security guard will direct visitors at the Band Hall entrance, and visitors to the Main Office entrance should check in inside the main office. Thank you!
