  • A quick reminder:  The doors on the South side by the tennis courts are locked, all day.  Students are to enter the building on the East side by the Promenade, on the North side by the Band Hall, or on the West side by the Main Office.  Please do not interrupt classes by banging on the doors on the South Side by the tennis courts.--- 
  • What Is Your Story? Tell your story through dance, film, literature, music, photography or visual arts. Enter the Lamar Reflections Contest. Pick up an entry form in the library today. Entries due by October 31st.---
  • National Art Honor Society will meet on Tuesday November the 1st at 3:00 in room 107. We hope to see you there!!---
  • Seniors - Your fund raising order forms and money must be turned in on either Tuesday November 1st or Wednesday the 2nd. Your sponsors will be located outside the band hall during both lunches to take up your orders and money. If you need more order forms please see Mrs. Reeder in room 107.---
  • Who likes FRESH BAKED cookies?  That’s what I thought!  Project Celebration will be selling FRESH BAKED Otis Spunk Meyer cookies this Friday during both lunches!---
  • Senior Portraits will be taken Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in the auditorium during the English class. Seniors without an English class should go to the auditorium during their off period. This is the last chance to be photographed and included in the 2017 Valhalla.---
  • Also, retake picture day for faculty, staff, and all underclassmen will be on Friday, Nov. 4 in the auditorium from 8am – 3pm. Students who were not photographed on Sept. 21-22 should be sent to the auditorium with a pass during their English class. *Faculty and Staff: bring your favorite prop for a fun photo.---
  • Order your 2017 Valhalla by Dec 1 and you can save $5.  Look for the link on the Lamar website.---
  • Attention students enrolled in After School Academy (ASA), the ASA is beginning next week on October 31 at 3:30.  Again, ASA is beginning next Monday, October 31 and starts at 3:30.---

Pre-game tickets for home, varsity football games will be sold online and in the AISD Athletic Office, 1141 W. Pioneer Pkwy, beginning at 8:00am on the Monday prior to the game.   Online tickets will be sold until 4:00pm on gameday.

Late Night at the Library


The Library will be open late for tutoring and studying on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 3:00 - 6:00 pm, beginning 9/6.  There will be a math tutor available both nights. 

Entrances to Lamar

Lamar students, parents, and visitors,
Prior to 7:35, the Band Hall, Promenade and Main Office entrances will be unlocked. After 7:35, we will lock all exterior doors except those at the Band Hall entrance and the Main office entrance. All parents and visitors may park in the main lot north of Lamar Blvd and enter through the Band Hall, or park in the lot just off Sam Curlee Blvd at the SW corner of the school. A security guard will direct visitors at the Band Hall entrance, and visitors to the Main Office entrance should check in inside the main office. Thank you!
