SAT Prep
Emphasis will be on the new SAT that begins testing in March 2016. A minimum of two practice SAT’s will be administered; classes will emphasize math, reading, and writing strategies. Official Collegeboard SAT guides will be provided.

AHS Volleyball Camp:
AHS I Dig Volleyball Camp will be Monday-Thursday, July 18 - 21 with 2 sessions!! Session 1: All Skills, 9 - 11:30am, is open to all boys and girls 3rd grade to incoming Freshmen. Session 2: Specialty Camp, 12 - 2pm, is for 6th grade to incoming freshman and High school players not from Arlington High.  Register before July 10th to avoid late fees.  Walk up registrations are welcome and cash only!  Click on this link- http://w2.aisd.net/aisd/arlington/Athletics/Volleyball to find the registration form and other information volleyball information!

AHS Basketball Camp:
Arlington High Basketball Camp will be Monday-Thursday, June 13-16 from 8am to Noon. It is open to all boys and girls from 1st grade to incoming Freshmen. Register before June 10th and pay only $55. Walk up registrations on the 13th will be $60.  Click on this link

Last Days of School
Thanks to the passing of House Bill 2610 and the lack of inclement weather days this year, the last day of school for students has been moved up to May 31.  This means that final exams will be Friday, May 27 and Tuesday, May 31.  Graduation will still be June 4 as scheduled.  If you would like more information on the specifics of House Bill 2610, please see the district website for details.

  MGM Fund Raisers:- Support MGM fundraisers!   Steele City Pops every Thursday from now until May 19!  Stop by at lunch and check out the great flavors. $3 each!  Proceeds go to MGM 2016

Luis Alva was named as a Del Scholar for 2016!!!
This is a huge honor and will have a tremendous impact on this young man's life.

 Winning 1st at district for Literary Criticism! Isabella R., Laurel C., Megan N. (1st place individual) 

First place in the UIL Spelling and Vocabulary competition at the district meet at Martin yesterday. Not only did the team preserve our title for the sixth year in a row, but the members also took the following individual places:Amy E. - 1st place;Hannah L. - 3rd place; Clare L. - 4th place. The girls will be competing at regionals on April 23. Go Colts!!!

AHS Speech and Debate Team placed seven students on the Regional qualifying team:  Grace R. - 1st in Poetry, 1st in Informative Speaking; Isaac J. - 3rd in Informative Speaking; Katie S.  - 1st in Prose; Aida O. - 2nd in Prose; Brijan K. - 2nd in Lincoln Douglas Debate;Kevin K. - 3rd in Lincoln Douglas Debate; Also placing but not advancing: Gracie S. - 4th in Persuasive Speaking (1st alternate); Shelby M. - 5th in Persuasive Speaking; Julianne F. - 5th in Poetry; Niitia D. - 6th in Poetry; Evan O. - 4th in Prose (1st alternate)

Ladies Golf: Kenna A. 2nd Team All-District.

Business Professionals of America: national qualifier, Destiny C., in Advanced Interview Skills; she will be competing in Boston in May.  Honorable mention goes to: Adriana B. - Administrative Support Concepts - place;  Parliamentary Procedures Concepts - 1st place.Hillary P. - Texas Merit Scholar - 3rd place; Parliamentary Procedures Concepts - 4th place; Business Meeting Management Concepts and Administrative Support Concepts - 7th place; Information Tech Concepts - 4th place.

AHS German Club competed at Winterfest, the annual DFW-area German language competition. Students competed at four levels of German, and we won something at EVERY level.  Also, our Pass Auf (a Jeopardy/Quiz Bowl type game) team took first place at the JV level.
